Claws and Paws Mobile Vet Service

Shannon Dawkins is originally from Palisades, New York.

She attained her bachelors degree in Animal Science from Cornell University and then traveled abroad to St. Kitts, West Indies, where she studied veterinary medicine at Ross Veterinary School of Medicine.

Shannon attended Auburn University for her clinical year of veterinary school.

She graduated from Ross in 2006 and worked in the Catskill Mountains in NY for four years, then moved back to the South where she has been practicing ever since.

Dr. Dawkins has a special interest in exotic animals and holistic treatment alternatives, and is continually expanding the holistic knowledge and techniques she brings to the practice.

She been helping local wildlife rehabilitators since starting Claws and Paws in 2013.

She and her two adopted children share their home with three dogs, one cat and two parrots, all rescues.
