Reynolds Road Animal Hospital
Our mission is to provide the highest standard of veterinary care for pets. We provide friendly, informative, and supportive services for your pet, while maintaining a superior working environment for our employees.
Your pet's annual vet check-up will include a complete physical exam, with a thorough investigation of your pet's entire body. It may be suggested that lab work, x-rays, or an ultrasound is needed. Periodically, most pets need a dental cleaning as they mature. Cats and small breed dogs tend to require it more frequently than large dogs. Like you, your pet can lose teeth due to decay and neglect. The bacteria in the mouth can get into the blood system and can harm the internal organs such as the kidneys, liver, heart and brain. In order to do a thorough cleaning, general anesthesia is required.
It is a good idea to keep an accurate medical diary, not only of the procedures and vaccinations your pet receives at the vet, but also of notes on things like your pet's typical elimination habits and any physical changes or unusual occurrences. Keep track of shifts in your pet's behavior, including urinary marking habits and mood swings, along with diet and routine modifications. Take this diary when you visit the vet. These seemingly unrelated occurrences may help explain results of your pet's medical tests.
