Yellow Creek Animal Hospital

Dr. Owen grew up in West Akron & graduated from Firestone High School in 1987. He then went into the Army and trained as an Army medic. After service time, he went to Mount Union to get his undergraduate degree. He played football for Firestone High School & the national championship team at Mount Union. After graduating from Mount Union, he went on to The Ohio State University - College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his degree & started practicing with his father, Dr. Terry Owen, DVM (Viking Community Animal Hospital, North Canton, OH). After his daughter was born, he opened his own practice, Howland Animal Hospital near Warren, OH. In time, he wanted to move back home to Bath, OH, where his parents & family have lived over 30 plus years. He sold his practice & started practicing surgery as a traveling veterinarian. When he heard that the 799 Wye building was for sale, he called Bob Raskow of NAI Pleasant Valley and bought the building to make his hometown practice, Yellow Creek Animal Hospital. After months of renovations, he has a state of the art clinic & surgery center in Bath, OH. We have now been open for over a year & 1/2 & the surgery business has grown so much thanks to our clients & referring veterinarians. Due to this, we changed our name to Yellow Creek Veterinary Surgery & Imaging & are concentrating on surgery & imaging cases only. Dr. John Owen has studied surgery with his father, Dr. Terry Owen & welcomes talking to you in regards to any needs your pet(s) may have. Dr. John is the son of Carol & Dave Landis and Dr. Terry & Nancy Owen. Dr. Owen can usually be seen with his sidekick "Cash", his rescued golden retriever.
