Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group (VERG) was formed in 2005 by Dr. Brett Levitzke to provide emergency services and specialty medicine exclusively to the Brooklyn community.

Open 24 hours, 7 days a week, our emergency/critical care units consist of teams of experienced and dedicated emergency doctors, technicians, and assistants working together to provide the highest quality care.

VERG’s specialty arm – dedicated, compassionate, highly-qualified experts in the fields of surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, and emergency/critical care – collaborate across services to deliver state-of-the-art care within a nurturing environment.

VERG works closely with your veterinarian, stepping in to provide ER and specialty services that complement their expertise to ensure 360-degree care for your pet.

We’ve successfully developed and continue to grow a network of local referring veterinarians, and strive for even closer collaboration with individual vets across our borough.
