Southwest Veterinary Hospital

Southwest Veterinary Hospital is proud to serve Reno and the surrounding areas for everything related to the health of your pet!

Southwest Veterinary Hospital was founded in 2008 by doctors Gary Sargent and Erin Rasmusson.

Their mutual vision was to open a state of the art hospital that provided patients with the highest standard of personalized veterinary medicine, clients an exceptional service experience and staff a supportive and educational work environment.

Originally a two doctor practice with four support staff, the hospital has grown tremendously thanks to the dedicated and supportive client base from Reno and the surrounding areas.

SWVH offers surgery five days per week, digital radiology (both standard and dental), ultrasonography, state of the art dental equipment, class-IV laser therapy, and personalized preventative care for each patient.

Our commitment to the professional field of veterinary medicine with continued education means that we are comfortable with the care and management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, Cushing’s, Addison’s, Chronic Kidney, arthritis, and allergies, to name a few.

Our in-house laboratory equipment allows us to get information immediately on sick or critical patients.

We also work closely with Idexx laboratories for routine blood panels and other services such as cultures, histopathology, cytology and titers.
