Friendship Animal Hospital

Friendship Animal Hospital was founded in 2009 by Dr. Rhonda Prince-Smith. She created a culture that treats every patient as an individual, nurtures the human-animal bond, and provides exceptional client education. Rhonda's career was her passion and she approached each day with positivity, compassion, and huge smile. She treated her clients and patients as family. Sadly Rhonda passed away in 2019 after a courageous battle with Ocular Melanoma. Friendship Animal Hospital is committed to honoring her legacy and passion for veterinary medicine.

We are a full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing high quality, state-of the art medicine and compassionate care for your pets in the West Portage, Texas Township neighborhoods of Kalamazoo and Portage, MI. We are conveniently located at the corner of S. 12th St. and Texas Drive, across the street from Wedel's Garden Center.

We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with referral practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities and a closely supervised hospitalization area.
