Our goal and policy is to provide the best service to our clients and their pets as we do for our own. We provide our patients with the highest quality surgical and medical care while educating our clients in all aspects of pet ownership. We strive to achieve these goals by optimizing patience, knowledge, trust, and dedication with one another and our clients.

Dr. Roy E. Bergman started his practice of Veterinary Medicine here in Cassopolis in the spring of 1922. His first location was within the Cass Co–Op Farmers facility on West State Street. Here he also stabled his Percheron stallion with which he provided his clients with a mobile stallion service. At that time draft horses dominated the farm scene. His service fee for that horse during those great depression years was fifteen dollars and that guaranteed a standing, suckling foal.

In 1926 he married a local farmer’s daughter, Lois Townsend and five years later their first son George was born. Again after five more years their second son Roy Thomas was born.
In the later 1930’s he moved his office to a vacant livery stable on North Broadway and operated from that location until his son George joined him in practice in 1954.
Both sons attended Michigan State and graduated from that schools veterinary college, George in 1954 and Roy T. in 1959.

In 1954 the practice again relocated, this time to their present location on M–60 East.
Dr. George and Roy T practiced together for 1 year and in 1960 Roy T. enrolled in Northwestern University and completed his course in human medicine. Dr. Roy E. passed in 1964.
