Halifax Veterinary Service
Halifax Veterinary Service is a small animal practice established in 1983 by Dr. Keith Hopkins. Our patients include dogs and cats. We have a full-service small animal hospital offering general surgery, full dentals, laboratory diagnostics, digital radiography, ultrasound, and routine outpatient services.
Dr. Hopkins is a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hopkins has been involved with many aspects of veterinary medicine. He started his career doing equine racetrack and farm work. Dr. Hopkins practiced in a small animal, equine practice in Amesbury, Mass. He then served as the director of The Animal Rescue League of Boston Clinic. He came to Halifax in 1983 and started Halifax Veterinary Service, servicing small and large animals. He works closely in his practice with his long-time employees as well as two of his children. In his spare time, enjoys walking his dogs and spending time with his family. He also enjoys helping his wife compete her Border Collie and Golden Retrievers in agility competitions. Dr. Hopkins has been involved in community affairs serving as a youth baseball and basketball coach along with serving as Chairman of the Halifax Master Plan Committee.
