Southview Veterinary Hospital was established in 1969 by Neil Walker, DVM. In 1980, he sold the practice to his youngest brother, Brad Walker, DVM.

Misti May, DVM, purchased the practice in 2002 to fulfill a lifetime dream of owning a small animal practice that caters to the family pet. Misti moved to McPherson to raise her children, Caroline and Andrew.

In 2004, the middle Walker brother, Boyd Walker, DVM, retired from a teaching career and returned to McPherson to join the Southview staff. Boyd and his wife Sharon moved home to the family farm and have a wonderful environment to share with their extended family; their three children, Elizabeth, Rachel and Ethan; and their three grandchildren, Esme`, Jack, and Lucy.
