Intermountain Pet Hospital

Intermountain Pet Hospital was founded in 1975 by Dr. Phil Volkman and Dr. Terry Smith, primarily as a large animal practice in Meridian, Idaho.

It’s ownership-changed hands in 1983 as it was purchased by Dr. Bob Beede who moved to the Treasure Valley from Hailey, Idaho.

He grew the practice into a well-known referral center for llama medicine and small animal care, which required the services of 3 additional veterinarians in just a few short years.

As the valley continued to grow, the need for small animal medicine increased and in 1996 Dr. Beede converted his practice to a small animal only hospital.

Dr. Beede was very progressive and invested in the latest technologies and treatments while providing the highest quality medical care to every patient that came through the door.

His genuine love and compassion for all pets and their families inspired his staff and all those who knew him.
