Indian Hills Animal Clinic

At Indian Hills Animal Clinic, we offer pet wellness care based on the belief that prevention is the best means to protect the well-being of your pet while minimizing the lifetime cost of care. This includes comprehensive semi-annual physical exams, laboratory work, nutritional counseling, specialized care for senior-aged pets, balanced vaccines, microchip pet identification, and a variety of other veterinary services. Dr. Philip M. Smith originally purchased the hospital in January 1987 when it was called Northport Veterinary Hospital. In 1994, the practice moved to its present location in North Tuscaloosa and was renamed Indian Hills Animal Clinic and Pet Hotel.

We take pride in being a dedicated community member in Tuscaloosa, Northport, and the surrounding areas. The staff at Indian Hills Animal Clinic has been recognized for helping Tuscaloosa tornado victims with pet treatment, hospitalization, and long-term boarding by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation. The staff has also volunteered many hours providing food and water to tornado victims and rescue workers.

Our veterinary team participates in school career programs and science classes as well. A former Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts, Dr. Smith assists local troops to earn their merit badges in pet health and related subjects.
