Brushing your dog or cat’s teeth is often not an every easy task. Tartar/plaque builds up and traps bacteria in the gum line. The gingivitis that ensues can cause issues with the liver and kidneys, plus deteriorating health of the individual teeth. But what we really notice is the bad breath that accompanies it when we get those puppy kisses.

A dental exam is performed with the yearly physical. At that time we can decide what is needed in your pet’s case to promote the best dental health. In some cases at home care is all that is needed ( routine brushing/rinses, dental chews, water additives ). In other cases general anesthesia is required for a full periodontal exam and treatment.
